GEFASOFT has been a member of MINT-Labs Regensburg e. V. since last year. The MINT Labs premises (Rubina building) are located in the immediate vicinity of Franz-Mayer-Straße, where entire school classes can take part in interesting courses. Pupils can also book courses there in their free time and carry out exciting experiments under expert guidance. MINT stands for mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology.
The INDUSTRIAL ROBOT PROGRAMMING course gave participants the opportunity to come into contact with our UR5 robot in our training workshop. The team of course instructors prepared a suitable task in advance. The robot was to pick up a ball from a workpiece carrier and place it in a ball track. At the end of the ball track, the ball falls back onto the workpiece carrier, which is then already on another position of a conveyor belt.
The participants were able to gain experience in small groups at various stations:
- Building the ball track with Bosch profiles
- Wiring the conveyor belt control system
- Programming a LOGO! small controller to control the conveyor belt
- Assembling and tubing a vacuum gripper
- Programming the robot
At the end of the third day, the assembly was successfully put into operation and the ball rolled along the desired path - all assemblies fulfilled their function.
"The most exciting part was programming the robot," all participants agreed.
We are delighted that the participants enjoyed the STEM course so much and hope to run many more courses here at GEFASOFT!
