With GCell PressFit technology, GEFASOFT offers a reliable and high-quality alternative to conventional soldering for connecting MultiPin headers to the PCB.
The requirement is to produce a permanent and positive connection of pin headers with the metallized hole of a printed circuit board. The basic principle is based on the greater expansion of the PressFit zone compared to the PCB hole. The PressFit process plastically deforms the pin and produces a vibration-proof, highly resilient electrical connection between the MultiPin header and the printed circuit board.
GCell PressFit technology is available both in the form of individually integrable servo press modules and in the form of stand-alone, complete press cells. Press insertion forces of 1 - 60 kN (> 60 kN upon request) can be realized. A high-precision rotary table system enables short cycle times. Easily exchangeable and automatically monitored toolings allow a high degree of flexibility. It is also possible to interface a GCell PressFit by means of robotics in order to increase the degree of automation of the system.
